Custom Silicone Mold Prototype Pour Checklist (Your Material, Not Ours)
Prototype pour checklist for custom silicone molds — weight, demold, logo fill, flash, Shore feel on your chocolate resin wax soap. MOQ 50 path from RUUIPON.

On this page
A resin brand signed off a sample tray from supplier photos, then poured production epoxy that night. Three cavities trapped air at the logo, two ears tore, and average weight sat 0.8 g over label. The tray was not “fake.” The brief never locked a prototype pour with their real resin, temp, and demold method.
RUUIPON soft-tools brands in Shenzhen (since 2018): MOQ 50, prototype usually 3–7 days after CAD lock, quote ~24h on complete files. This page is the bench checklist you run when the sample lands — not the factory QC sheet in sample approval, and not the reject taxonomy in sample rejection reasons.
Why Photo Pass Is Not Pour Pass
Photos prove silhouette. Your pour proves fill, demold, weight, and logo under real viscosity and heat. Chocolate temper, pectin set, epoxy exotherm, and wax fragrance load all change what the cavity feels like. If you only approve from our cast (or a water fill), you are approving someone else’s process.
Before You Open the Box
- Write pass bands: piece weight ±g, max flash lip, logo fill pass/fail, demold method (flex peel vs pick)
- Stage production material — same lot you will sell, not a leftover test resin
- Note Shore feel target from the quote (e.g. Shore A 30–40) — Shore guide
- Have calipers, scale (0.1 g), and phone for cavity photos ready
First Pour Steps
- Wash tray per food or craft SOP; dry fully. No heavy release until you prove stick — release agent guide
- Pour or deposit exactly as production will (temp, vacuum if you use it, fill height)
- Cure / set / temper on your normal clock — do not rush cool to “see the shape”
- Demold the worst cavity first (deepest logo, tallest wall, tightest undercut)
- Repeat on 3–8 cavities across the tray, not one hero cavity
What to Measure
- Weight: 5+ pieces; compare to label / bag claim
- Logo: fill to the mark band (often 0.3–0.6 mm relief) — wash-out notes: logo washes out
- Flash: lip clean enough for pack; trim time per tray
- Tear / stick: count pulls that need tools
- Cavity-to-cavity spread: if grams walk across the tray, read weight variance
Pass / Hold / Reject
| Result | What you do | What you tell us |
|---|---|---|
| Pass | Email written approval + photos | Lock CAD; start MOQ 50 |
| Hold | One more pour with process tweak only | Say what you changed (temp, release, fill) |
| Reject / revise | Stop production thinking | Photos + grams + which cavities fail — we revise CAD or Shore |
Do not “approve with notes” and hope production fixes it. Notes without a revise PO become scrap at MOQ 50.
Photos to Send Back

- Close-up of best and worst logo
- Side shot of flash lip if any

FAQ
Can I approve without pouring if CAD looked perfect?
You can — we advise against it for food weight claims and deep logos.

One careful pour on several cavities beats five rushed single-cavity tests.
MOQ after pass?
Production soft tooling is quoted at MOQ 50 per design after sample approval.
