A custom silicone mold maker is the shop that freezes your CAD, names the mold structure, and pours an RTV tool you dump chocolate, gummy, resin, soap, plaster, or concrete into. What we ship when you ask for a maker
Buyers type "mold makers" because they want a person who will cut from *this* file, not a warehouse reprinting a bear tray. The deliverable on ruuipon.com is the RTV tool: master kept for recast, cavity skin, and jacket when the geometry or the wet load needs it. We do not ship a molded silicone spatula, a baby product, or a cold-runner LSR article under this query.
The maker conversation starts with three objects on the bench:
- The master — CNC, a sealed SLA, or a physical sample you own. Surface of the master is surface of the cavity.
- The structure — open-back tray, two-part with keys, plug, core, or mother mold. We name it with the RUUIPON Mold Structure Decision before anyone opens a drum.
- The rubber path — platinum RTV for food-contact cavities; tin only when you have a craft reason and you said so on the RFQ.
A trader who forwards your PNG to three WeChat groups is not a maker. A CNC shop that mills aluminum and has never vacuum-degassed A/B is not this maker either. You need the shop that will still have the master when you reorder six months later. Paying a tooling charge does not hand you unrestricted ownership of that master; say who archives it on the PO. How a drawing becomes a structure call
We do not pick Shore A from a catalog chip and hope. We read the pocket.
RUUIPON Mold Structure Decision
- Flat back that peels off a slab or tray? Open-back skin, often Shore 20A–40A for food trays or 10A–20A if you need a glove peel, plus a jacket if the loaded edge will sag (typical unsupported sag 0.5–1.5 mm).
- Not flat. Deep undercuts that still peel without tearing the dump? One-piece glove can stay. If they will not peel, we go two-part, plug, or core, and we put keys on the shut so the halves find themselves every cycle.
- Large wet casting (concrete, deep PU, a mother that has to hold a floppy skin)? Mother mold / jacket is in the quote, not an afterthought after the first slump.
Draft on an RTV peel is not the same conversation as draft on a steel ejector. Soft rubber can wrap a zero-draft mascot you could never pull from HCR. That is not a reason to skip a split on a closed letter or a bail. ISO 3302-1 class (M2 is a common default on the 2D) is a rubber tolerance class on the drawing, not a marketing word for "precision maker."
If the STEP is missing a shut face, a logo depth, or a fill line, we stop. USD $50 CAD applies when we still have to model that scope. A week of sculpture reconstruction is a separate quote, not that fifty dollars.

Common mix-up: Amazon "maker" versus a shop that recasts
A lot of RFQs treat a three-day US warehouse SKU as a custom maker. That listing is a reprint. It will not take your serif depth, will not keep your master, and will not recast when the logo tears. The other mix-up is a steel/LSR *parts* factory quoting "custom silicone" against the same outline as your chocolate bar. Same silhouette, different object. If you need thousands of molded parts, that is WYD. If you need twenty RTV trays of one design, that is us.
Worked example (anonymized)
An 8-cavity CP-soap loaf, about 90 mm long, logo on the face. The buyer sent a STEP with the loaf body locked and a PNG logo floating in email. We did not mix. We charged the $50 CAD only for the logo lock into the face at 0.4 mm recessed, named an open-back platinum skin with a simple jacket so the loaf stayed square, froze CAD, and poured a prototype in the 3–7 business day window after that lock. First witness was a soap dump, not a photo of an empty cavity. Production released at MOQ 20 of that design. Harder Shore was never the lever. The structure call was.

We would not recommend picking a mold maker from a unit price that does not name structure, master source, or who archives the master.
We would not recommend sending us an LSR or HCR *part* RFQ on this page and expecting an RTV glove quote to stand in for steel. Geometry can override quantity, but chemistry does not: a gasket is still a part.
We would not recommend freezing production from an unscaled photo. $50 CAD when that scope applies is how we lock mm before rubber hits the box.
We would not recommend calling ISO 3302-1 "precision" in the PO. Put the class on the 2D.
What to ask when you're buying
- Is the deliverable an RTV cavity (master, box, skin, jacket) or a molded silicone part?
- Who names open-back vs split vs core vs mother mold on *this* geometry?
- Does the prototype clock start at CAD lock, and who signs that lock?
- Who keeps the master for recast, and does a tooling charge equal unrestricted ownership? (It does not.)
- Food-doc pack: 21 CFR 177.2600 extraction on the article, and/or LFGB — not an "FDA-approved factory" stamp.
- Production at MOQ 20 per design after the witness dump, or are you still in paid sample?

FAQ
Can a US warehouse that ships in three days make my custom mold? They can ship a stock cavity. A custom maker freezes your CAD, pours an RTV tool, and keeps the master for recast. Those are different POs.
Do you make the silicone part as well as the mold? Not on ruuipon.com. This site is the RTV tool. HCR compression and LSR injection *parts* go to wydsilicone.com.
What if I only have a phone photo of a competitor tray? We can talk. We will not freeze millimetres from that photo. $50 CAD applies when we still have to model. Production stays MOQ 20 per design after lock.
How fast is a prototype from a mold maker in Bao'an? 3–7 business days after CAD lock. An unlocked logo or a missing shut face is not on that clock.
If I pay tooling, do I own the master outright? A tooling charge is not unrestricted ownership. Write archive and recast rights on the PO. We keep the master so a reorder is a recast, not a archaeology project.
