Silicone Overmolding and Insert Molding
Silicone overmolding integrates silicone with an insert or substrate, such as a metal or compatible plastic component. Send the insert drawing, substrate material, temperature limits and required retention performance. RUUIPON reviews material compatibility, mechanical retention or bonding, tooling access and the tests needed to validate the assembly.
Common mix-up
Pouring RTV *around* a master is not insert-molding silicone *onto* a substrate. A rigid jacket on a soft RTV skin is a mother mold, not an overmold bond.

This page quotes a molded silicone article, not an RTV casting cavity. We would not recommend assuming chemical bond without a pull/peel/torque number. We would not recommend sending the insert drawing to the RTV pour table.

FAQ
Is a mother mold the same as overmolding? No. A jacket supports a soft RTV skin so a loaded tray doesn't banana. Overmolding puts silicone on a buyer's insert. They are different structures.
Can RUUIPON bond silicone to my PC/ABS handle? That's an HTV product or mold RFQ here, or ask us if you need a high-volume LSR cold-runner tool.
RUUIPON mold window? MOQ 20, USD $50 modeling when that scope applies, 3-7 days after CAD lock - for cavities, not overmolds.
What if I only need a resin-cast handle master? Then you want an RTV split here. Describe the pour, not the insert bond.
