Brand Candle Mold: Lock the Silhouette Before Shore

The RUUIPON channel short for a brand candle shows a custom cavity next to a finished pour. That is the job: your silhouette, not a catalog pillar with a sticker. Hot wax release and a planned demold path set the tool. Food-contact labels do not apply to candle trays.

Seam flash, registration, and wax sticking are a different diagnosis. Those sit on the candle seam-line guide. This page only locks the silhouette decision before anyone picks Shore A.

What the Clip Is Selling

A brand candle mold is an RTV cavity sized to one outline: bark, figurine, signature pillar, or another face you own. On the RUUIPON Mold Structure Decision:

• flat back and mild draft → open-back peel;
• deep undercuts on ears, arms, or bark ridges → slit or keyed two-part so the seam misses the hero face;
• large wet wax mass that sags the skin → mother mold / support shell outside the rubber.

The short can show a clean pour. It cannot show cycle life, a universal Shore, or “no leak forever.”

Silhouette Before Shore

Send the finished candle height and the widest section first. Then mark the release direction. Only after that do we talk rubber band.

Typical talk on open pillars is often Shore A 20-30 so the wall holds fill without turning into a soft bag. Character undercuts often want a softer peel band around 15A-25A, or a slit, instead of hardening the whole glove until the wax tears. A thin wall held by a rigid jacket is a different talk - often closer to 20A-30A - because the jacket stops the stretch soft rubber was counting on.

We would not raise Shore only so an empty mold looks stiff on camera.

• treat on-screen lines about “not simple,” “tightly controlled,” or daily new designs as a QC method;
• call a candle tray food-grade because the rubber is silicone;
• price a multi-cavity production sheet from one brand silhouette still;
• promise zero flash from a soft glove without a support shell when the wax column is tall;
• publish a cycle count from one demold on camera.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the mold in the video a catalog SKU?

No. The short is a custom cavity for a brand silhouette. Catalog pillars are a different buy.

Do I need a two-part mold for every brand candle?

No. Flat-back pillars often peel one-piece. Undercuts and full-3D faces usually need a slit or a keyed split.

Will harder silicone stop leaks at the pour?

Not by itself. Leak and flash follow closure, support, and fill height. Harder rubber can make a character peel worse.

Is a candle mold food-contact?

Not from this clip. Candle wax is not a food pour. Food trays need their own compound and papers.

Can you start from a photo only?

Yes for a first review. Critical faces still need size and a clean reference before CAD lock.
