RTV Production MOQ: 20 Pieces Per Design | RUUIPON

RUUIPON production MOQ is 20 molds per design — not 20 mixed SKUs, not MOQ 1. A paid prototype is a test. CAD is $50 when that scope applies.

RTV Production MOQ: 20 Pieces Per Design | RUUIPON

Production MOQ on this site is 20 pieces per design. That means twenty of the same CAD, after you approve the prototype — not twenty mixed trays, not ten of A plus ten of B, not a hidden “sample MOQ” we invented for search. A paid one-off prototype is how you learn. We will sell that test. We will not relabel it as production MOQ 1. Simple 3D is USD $50 when that CAD scope applies. Prototype clock is 3–7 business days after CAD lock. Bao’an shop since 2018.

If you need thousands of molded silicone *parts* at a parts MOQ, that is wydsilicone.com, not a lower number on this page.

Does not apply when you are buying a catalog ice cube that already exists, when you need one gallery sculpture mold (buy a paid prototype, do not ask us to print MOQ 1 as production), or when a copacker is asking for steel depositor plates. Geometry can still override quantity: one resin hook at qty 1 still needs a keyed split.

What “20 per design” actually counts

A design is one locked cavity (or one locked tray layout) with one Shore, one jacket rule, and one pour. Change the logo millimetres, the pocket grams, or the split, and you have a second design — another 20 after its own prototype. Recasts against a living master of the *same* design are reorders, not a new MOQ conversation.

LineWhat it isWhat it is not
Paid prototypeOne (or a few) working tools after CAD lockProduction MOQ; a free swatch; a new MOQ number
Production lot20+ of that design after written pass/fail10+10 of two designs; assorted leftovers
Recast reorderMore of the same against a living masterA second chance to skip the 20

A custom master is NRE. Spreading it across 20 is how the unit stays sane. QC, pack, and archive want a lot, not a unique souvenir every week. Search-page “MOQ 1 custom molds” is often a parts farm or a hobby kit — wrong object.

Common mix-up: 10 + 10 = 20

Buyers add two SKUs and call the PO “MOQ 20.” It is two designs. Each needs its own lock, its own witness, its own twenty if both go to production. The other mix-up is treating low MOQ as permission to skip DFM. Twenty trays of a wrong split is just a closet of wrong trays. Paying the tooling charge also does not transfer unrestricted ownership of the master — write archive terms if you want recasts later.

Worked example (anonymized)

A Shopify gummy launch asked for 4 trays “because we are low MOQ.” We quoted one paid 12-up prototype (CAD lock, 3–7 days, pectin dump, weigh sheet) plus production of 20 of that design. Custom 3D USD $50 on the cavity map. Four production sheets would have left them without a spare when listing photos converted, and it would have taught the shop the wrong number. We did not print MOQ 4 on the website to win the keyword.

We would not recommend

We would not recommend advertising MOQ 1 production. The test is a test.

We would not recommend cutting 20 of an unlocked logo. Prototype first.

We would not recommend mixing two wordmarks on one 20-piece lot and calling it one design.

What to ask when a factory says low MOQ

  • Is that production per design, or a paid prototype?
  • What is the number, written? (Ours is 20.)
  • Does a test cavity credit toward the 20?
  • Who owns the master if I stop at the test?
  • Are two designs 20 each?

When twenty is the wrong promise

If you need 5,000 LSR spatulas, low-MOQ RTV is the wrong factory (WYD). If you need a catalog cube, you do not need custom MOQ language. If you need one sculpture mold for a gallery pour, buy a paid prototype. CBD/THC jobs on this site are tooling only — no dosing or medical claims — and they still follow 20 per design after the test.

ISO 3302-1 M2 on the drawing does not change the twenty. It classes the rubber.

Why we hold twenty even when the tray is small

A 6-up wax-melt sheet still needs a master, a box, a vacuum pour, QC photos, export pack, and an archive entry. Doing that once for four trays does not teach the unit cost, and it does not leave you a spare when the first listing converts. Twenty is the smallest production lot we will put on a PI as *production*. Below that, the honest name is prototype.

CBD/THC cavities follow the same count. We make the tool. We do not write dosing or medical claims into the RFQ, and 21 CFR 177.2600 on the finished article is still extraction, not a factory stamp.

The photo that would prove a 20-piece lot is not a carton glamour shot. It is twenty trays of the same revision letter, one golden sample tagged, and the master on the shelf with the same letter. Four pretty trays in a kitchen are not a lot.

How to count designs on your PO (method)

Write each locked CAD on its own row. If two rows share logo millimetres, grams, split, and jacket, they may be one design. If any of those move, they are not.

Empty cells mean you are not ready to call it twenty.

FAQ

Can I order 8 for an Amazon test and call it production? No. Order a paid prototype, then 20 if the listing is real. Eight production sheets with no archive is how restock dies.

Is 20 the first order only? 20 is the production start per design. Reorders of the same locked CAD can follow archive rules. A new logo is a new design.

Do two colours of the same cavity count as two designs? If the cavity, split, and jacket are identical and only the dump colour changes, it is usually one design. If the pocket changes, it is not.

Will you drop MOQ if I pay more per piece? We will sell a paid prototype. We will not relabel that as production MOQ 1 on the PI.

If I pay for twenty, do I own the tooling outright? A tooling charge is not unrestricted ownership. Write who keeps the master and whether we may recast from a shop copy.
