Silicone molds for fondant: press, peel, and fine relief

Fondant and sugar-paste molds are press tools, not flood-and-scrape trays. You push paste into relief, then peel the silicone off a delicate letter or flower without stretching the sugar. Don't quote a gummy cavity and hope the baker "presses harder." Too-soft 10A without a backer rolls; too-stiff 40A won't release a thin petal. RUUIPON pours platinum RTV fondant skins in Bao'an since 2018: resin master to RTV casting mold, optional rigid backer. Prototype in 3-7 business days after CAD lock so you can press the real paste. MOQ 20 pcs/design. 21 CFR 177.2600 is extraction of the article, not an FDA-approved factory. Baking pans are baking molds. Frozen peel is mousse desserts. Artwork: logo molds.

Press direction and undercut

Send whether the user presses into an open-back cavity or around a 3D form, paste type (fondant, gum paste, modeling chocolate), min feature width, and whether a rigid backer already exists. Undercut serifs lock sugar. Fillet roots. About 0.3 mm minimum feature is a common conversation - not a promise every font survives.

A floppy sheet without a backer distorts letters as you press. That's a board, not a harder Shore. Loaded-tray sag numbers (0.5-1.5 mm) still apply if you carry a large plaque.

Food-contact sugar, not a resin skin

Platinum food-grade with market docs. Don't reuse a resin or soap skin. Color is part of the article. Dusting starch is your process; deep pits that trap starch are DFM.

When this fondant advice does not apply

Poured gelatin/pectin gummies are not press tools. Chocolate temper is a dump. Resin jewelry is a different chemistry. LSR housewares *parts* → an HTV product RFQ here. A one-off wedding flower can skip multi-cavity. Geometry can override quantity: a locked petal still needs a split at 40 presses.

If you only have photos, custom 3D modeling is USD $50 when that scope applies.

Fondant RFQ to copy

  • Process: platinum RTV food-contact press skin
  • Paste type; press vs wrap
  • Outlined art; min feature; depth
  • Rigid backer yes/no
  • Market; 177.2600 / LFGB
  • Custom 3D modeling: USD $50 when that scope applies
  • Prototype press, then MOQ 20 pcs/design

Send vectors, paste type, and whether you need a backer to contact ([email protected] / +86 135 3006 2969). Licheng Technology Industry Park, Xinhe Blvd, Shajing, Baoan.

Matched CTA: Send outlined relief, paste type, and press direction for a peel-and-backer review - not a gummy tray quote.

We would not recommend a gummy dump cavity as a fondant press

We would not recommend a 0.1 mm hairline on a 10A lip. We would not skip a backer on a large plaque. We would not call 177.2600 a factory approval. We would not hang a food pack on a resin skin you plan to press sugar into.

RUUIPON Mold Structure Decision: open-back press if draft peels. 3D wrap or locked petal? split or plug. Large floppy skin? rigid backer / mother mold.

  1. Open-back or 3D wrap? - open-back -> One-piece press skin
  2. Open-back or 3D wrap? - wrap / undercut -> Split or plug
  3. One-piece press skin -> Large sheet rolls while pressing?
  4. Large sheet rolls while pressing? - yes -> Rigid backer
  5. Large sheet rolls while pressing? - no -> Prototype with real paste
  6. Split or plug -> Prototype with real paste
  7. Rigid backer -> Prototype with real paste

FAQ

Can I pour melted fondant like chocolate? Some pastes can be melted; most of this page is press-and-peel. Name the process. Don't assume a chocolate dump.

Will a deep logo look sharper? Only if it fills and peels. Too deep locks sugar. We review stroke and draft on the master.

Is this FDA-approved? No factory stamp. 21 CFR 177.2600 is extraction of the finished article.

Do I need a prototype? For a new letter or flower, yes. 3-7 business days after CAD lock. Press the real paste.

Can you copy a plastic fondant mold? We can copy geometry from a scan or measurements. Don't send a photo and expect serif width to be frozen.
