Silicone molds for mousse desserts: frozen peel, not an oven pan
A mousse or entremet mold is a food-contact RTV cavity, but the failure is closer to a sculpture than a muffin pan. You're freezing a delicate foam against petals or a sphere, then peeling silicone off a brittle-cold surface without tearing the dessert or stretching the tray out of volume. Don't copy a Shore 35A-45A baking sheet. Typical cavity Shore is 10A-20A platinum so a frozen petal releases; stiffness comes from a nest. RUUIPON builds these in Bao'an since 2018: resin master to RTV casting mold. Prototype in 3-7 business days after CAD lock. MOQ 20 pcs/design. 21 CFR 177.2600 is extraction of the article, not an FDA-approved factory. The longer pastry explainer is mousse and entremet molds. Baking: baking molds.

Loaded carry to the freezer
A 400 x 300 mm six-cavity sphere tray with ~80 g portions is kilograms plus rubber. Unsupported large food trays typically show about 0.5-1.5 mm edge sag; outer-row portions can run 3-6% heavy versus center if you sell grams. Design for the loaded carry, not the empty mold on a desk.
Crossed petals or a nearly closed sphere need a split or plug. Don't solve every undercut by stretching 10A harder. See split lines.
Food-contact, frozen, fatty or aqueous
Name US / EU and whether the mousse is dairy-fatty. A baking extraction is not this article. Color is part of the lot.
When this mousse-slug advice does not apply
Oven baking is the baking hub. Fondant press is fondant. A one-off tasting sphere can skip multi-cavity. LSR dessert *parts* → an HTV product RFQ here. Geometry can override quantity: a locked sphere still needs a split at 40 trays.
If you only have photos, custom 3D modeling is USD $50 when that scope applies.
Mousse RFQ to copy
- Process: platinum RTV food-contact frozen-peel cavity
- Portion grams or mL; sphere / petal / logo
- Nest / frame yes/no
- Blast-freeze vs still-freeze
- Market; 177.2600 / LFGB
- Custom 3D modeling: USD $50 when that scope applies
- Prototype frozen demold, then MOQ 20 pcs/design
Send portion grams, shape, and nest notes to contact ([email protected] / +86 135 3006 2969). Licheng Technology Industry Park, Xinhe Blvd, Shajing, Baoan.
Matched CTA: Send frozen portion grams and petal/sphere photos for a peel-and-nest review - not a baking-pan quote.
We would not recommend a 40A baking grade for a frozen petal
We would not recommend skipping the nest and then blaming Shore for sag. We would not call 177.2600 a factory approval. We would not freeze a locked sphere as one-piece "to see how it goes." We would not treat an RTV mousse tray as an LSR part tool.
RUUIPON Mold Structure Decision: open-back if the frozen piece peels. Locked sphere? split or plug. Loaded tray to the freezer? mother mold / nest.
- Peel without tearing petal? - no -> Softer local Shore, draft, split/plug
- Peel without tearing petal? - yes -> Loaded tray sag?
- Loaded tray sag? - yes -> Rigid nest
- Loaded tray sag? - no -> Prototype freeze + peel
- Softer local Shore, draft, split/plug -> Loaded tray sag?
- Rigid nest -> Prototype freeze + peel

| Platinum shrink | About 0.1-0.3% after full cure |
| Loaded-tray edge sag without a jacket | About 0.5-1.5 mm |

FAQ
Can I use a muffin pan Shore for mousse? Don't. Baking 35A-45A holds a sheet and tears a frozen petal. Soft skin plus nest.
Do I need a mother mold? If you carry a loaded tray to a blast freezer, usually yes.
Is this FDA-approved? No factory stamp. 21 CFR 177.2600 is extraction of the finished article.
Will a locked sphere demold as one piece? Usually no. Plan a split or a slightly open equator before prototype.
How fast is a prototype? Commonly 3-7 business days after CAD lock. Freeze the real mousse before MOQ 20.
