Photo coverage for a sculpture

Send front, back, left, right, top, 3/4 views, close-ups of face / hands / texture, and one verified dimension. Organic subjects need consistent camera height. A pile of angled snapshots from different distances does not lock proportion.

What photos cannot prove

Hidden depth, true orthographic size, backside geometry, exact symmetry, internal structure, and undercuts that never appear in the frame. If the job must match an existing object, send the sample or a scan. Photos are enough for a new concept with a written approval stage.

Art approval is not moldability

Two gates. First: does the sculpture look right? Second: can it be cast and demolded? After the sculpt is signed, review seam, undercuts, plugs, fragile detail, support shell, gate / vent, and the dump. A model can pass the first gate and fail the second.

Approve a turntable

Ask for front, rear, both sides, top, 3/4, and a turntable if the form is organic. One hero render hides a proportion miss. Then treat the master as a manufacturing object: scale, closed mesh, no paper-thin walls, a stable base, locked texture, and named no-seam faces.

Worked example: standing animal

Typical job, not a named PO. Buyer sent three phone shots and a height. We held CAD lock until back-leg photos and a base width arrived, then marked a plug between the legs before print. The pretty 3/4 view had hidden the lock.
